Major Changes for 2009!  After 45 + years, the family business of Ketter Canoeing, Inc will be closing at the end of the year.  The factors are simple, indirectly; the problem can be traced back to the economy.

We are in a good position to do this over some time.  But, our demise is still your gain.  We plan on closing at the end of this season, September/October.  If however, we need to stay open longer to sell them all, we will.  We have 234 canoes and kayaks in our inventory including new, blems, older serial numbered, used and vintage (collectables).  You can see a complete list on the following pages under SPECIALS;  CANOE, KAYAKS.

We also have too many certain accessories that need to be liquidated.  For instance, our kayak skirts, both full neoprene and neoprene over nylon will be at 50% off with the purchase of you kayak from us. --ALL PFDs, Paddles, Skirts and other accessories are ON SALE!

With discounts this steep & deep, we request cash or check. If you prefer to use a credit card, please talk to us.  The credit card companies charge the merchant (that's us) 3-4% processing fee, and we need to take this into account.  Also, we will still be happy to special order a new canoe or kayak to your specifications.  The sale price on those will be 7% off list.

Rental equipment will also be on sale at the end of the season including newer sawyer paddles, Seda PFD’s of all sizes, etc.

In negotiating for a  canoe or kayak, I ask that you respect me by adhering to the following :  DO NOT negotiate over the phone before seeing the canoe or kayak.  Also, this is not a fire sale or a bankruptcy.  Don't make  an offer that is 50% more off the sale price and expect me to not be insulted. 

Also, a Minnesota sales sax of 6.9 % is added to all purchases and is not to be negotiated into the sale price.

Here is a little story...a long time customer from Minnetonka called the other day and was telling me about the grief his wife was giving him over how much time he spends in his canoe.  He went on to say that, regrettably, he was probably going to have to trade her in.  I asked him to give me a description.  His answer was, "... she is about 5' 7" tall, thin, a brunette..."

That means you have the ability to demo most of the Wenonah catalog right on the Mississippi River RIGHT NOW! No waiting for specific demo days, come paddle the boat you want, compare it against the others you might be considering, and since Ketter Canoeing offers the largest canoe inventory in Minnesota, we probably have your new boat right here in town.

Hours of operation: Mon through Sat 10 AM to 5 PM However, as I am a one man show, sometimes I may need to run and errand or deliver a canoe. It is a good idea to call before you come. Call twice, if both lines are busy...you may think we are not here!

COME TRY KAYAKING! Spend a fun 2-3 hours paddling down a quiet, leisurely stretch of the Mississippi. Perfect for beginners. We will be starting as soon as the weather warms up! This part of the Mississippi is beautiful - eagles, ospreys, wood ducks, deer, the occasional wild fisherman - you name it!

RESERVATIONS REQUIRED! Every Saturday, trips depart at 9:30am and 1:pm. 35.00 per person + tax. Price includes paddles, PFD's. Bring sunscreen, water and a snack if desired. Trips are limited in size so call now to reserve a date and time! Gift certificates are also always available.
