Navarro Canoes...
the masterful marriage of classic beauty & contemporary design.
Navarro
Canoe Company specializes in hand-crafted wood-ribbed canoes of
extraordinary beauty, combined with the low weight and durability of
composite hulls.
The traditional
designs of Master Builder Vernon Pew and the touring/performance
designs of professional paddler Bob Foote are the inspiration for
Navarro Canoes, which have proven their mettle for over 40 years.
Rugged wooden frames hand-selected for their rich natural grain reflect
the art of traditional canoe building, while the strength and light
weight of composite hulls provides a very durable platform that greatly
reduces the physical demands of a long portage and makes getting out on
the lake far easier for a much broader age group.
Navarro
offers models for most paddling needs: recreational, touring,
expedition, and performance. And the efficiency, strength and weight of
our hull designs compares with any major manufacturer. However, there
is NO comparison between the remarkable beauty of a Navarro wood-ribbed
canoe and any other brand.
"I have yet to find a prettier, more classic, and well-mannered vessel manufactured by any other company for the price." A quote posted on www.paddling.net.
Here
is another testimony just recently received:
"I recently purchased the Loon
17 (green) from Canoe
Colorado. My son and I
took it out for it's maiden voyage to mountain lake
near Boulder, Colorado,
which is susceptible to erratic and sometimes strong
winds. It performed
beautifully in calm and chop and attracted comments
for others on it's beauty. It
handled extremely well, even with two somewhat
novice paddlers, and at times
we were both surprised at our speed across the water
in moderate head and
cross winds and with such little effort on the
paddles. I love it. Thanks for
making such an esthetically beautiful and functional
work of art. It is
exactly what I have been searching for some time and
will become a family
heirloom.
However, to ensure it lasts a lifetime and more, I
have some questions regarding how to care for its beauty and function
for years to come. In particular, can you tell me what type of wood isused
in the seats, thwarts, yoke and gunwales, and what sealants or oils I can
use toensure the woods' continued beauty and integrity? I found a product,
Watco Teak Oil, is that a good product to use? What do you recommend I
do topreserve the beautiful woodwork? Thanks, and keep making these wonderful
canoes."
The Pursuit
The
Pursuit is the choice of a wide range of paddlers who appreciate an
efficient hull for long distance cruising or touring. This 17'2"
touring canoe has impressive acceleration and glide. The straight sides
and narrow beam offer increased cruising speed with minimal effort that
borders on a performance design and the Pursuit's lower profile insures
easy paddling even in windy conditions.

The Otter
The
traditional lines of the Otter are reminiscent of classic wooden
canoes. The Otter is an entry level canoe that offers a feeling of a
steady platform. Paddlers will find them ideal cottage boats that are
great for day tripping on small bodies of water.
